yes, it’s true. more than once, verizon has shut down my voice mail system because i have too many old saved voice mails. ok, so i have this weird obsession with saving old messages (see blog entry)... sometimes i will save a message because it’s funny. other times i will save a message because it’s sentimental. other times my brain stops working while i’m listening to a new voice mail and i press the “9” key, which saves the message, instead of the “7” key, which i meant to press to delete the message, and then i’m stuck with an unwanted message for awhile... but, i digress...

i once told my friend pete that you could learn a lot about me as a person if you just listened to the various types of voice mails that people leave on my phone...and i subsequently then save. i made him promise that he would play all of these at my funeral some day. now, with the magic of the internet, i don’t have to die in order for you to enjoy them as much as i do...

don’t worry... this is just the first installment. there are many more to come!
